Why play survivor? On a personal level. This is one hell of a commitment/time sink/stressor. what makes it a good choice for you?
----
It's a game I love. And it's an activity that gives me honestly a lot more social interaction than I would otherwise get in my everyday life. Sorry for being brief, just that deadline is looming.

OHHH I THOUGHT YOU MEANT LIKE JURORS WHEN THEY WERE JURORS yeah ok I can do that sorry i think i had to satisfy some kind of curiosity. this is a part of MS that's always just there, watching, waiting, and I wanted to know more at a spiritual level. the LSG community is famously brilliant and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to have a crack at it. as for why I play forum games at all...why not? It's a neat hobby. i lovelovelove people but i'm fairly introverted irl and kinda have the people i know and like to hang out with, and then a whole buncha people i don't have a whole lot to do with. the ability to play these things with people of completely different backgrounds and attitudes and stuff is really exciting.

Whenever I play a game like survivor, I always learn something about myself. Usually something bad. But that's what makes it valuable.

@deo and regi, If you get a sec for a coda on your closing speech, I'd love a bit of expansion.
But thank you all, I do appreciate all the efforts you've made here. Sorry I've been more demanding than normal, i just had a lot to figure out.

It's a good choice for me because it's a game I absolutely adore. I love the show, watch it every week, and think the game is so incredibly fascinating as a premise. Part of me wishes I could apply for the show but this also seems like a much less extreme version of that which allows me to experience parts of it without having to go through the extreme parts about the show. I am a big fan of strategy games in general, and I do think in a lot of ways this is the ultimate strategy game - a way to pit 16-20 people against one another in a battle of wits, wills, social skills and more. I will also say thought that I didn't actually realize the implications of how much of a time sink it is, since this has gone on a lot further and into more depth than my previous games.
As well, in addition to that, I've mentioned it a couple times but I'm not a very social person by nature and never have been. I have a few friends that I play board games with when we can, but mostly I keep to myself, spend a lot of time on my phone, my computer, and doing solo activities. These games are a good way for me to get outside my comfort zone and be in a position to interact with people, make new friends, and force myself to socialize more than I otherwise would. It's one of the things I really like about the games and what has kept me coming back to them despite the brief stints until now.

am I still ok? 11-Volcanion Volc was kinda my rock back in Valor1.0 and it meant a lot to me. I was probably tighter with the Lake Guardian duo Mesprit/Uxie in a vacuum, but that was largely just because Volc didn't connect with me a whole lot at a social level. This guy was the first example of like calculated strategic play I had a chance to see in Survivor Legendary and I think it helped me prepare for what was going to come later.
10-Mesprit Mesprit was my closest ally and favourite person in Valor1.0 back in the day. She was always a delight to talk with, and we levelled really well about our other tribesmates even when there wasn't a lot of strategy talk going on. She was the first person I told about meeting Hoopa/Coba after that one challenge, and it made me like sigh a breath of relief when I saw they were grouped up in the swap tribes. For a moment: I liked our debrief after the pokemon fusion activity thingy. I told her a bit about how cool Hoops and Solly were, and she was telling me that Meltan's posting in the thread was an absolute must-read and it was just like really nice. This is tricky because it was so early on in the game and I still didn't have a firm idea of what was going on but Mesprit was the best.
9-Uxie I was faaairly ninja on the thread-starting side of things so the fact Uxie sniped me TWICE is pretty impressive. Right at the start of Valor1.0 he was one of the first ones to slide into my DMs and the genius did it AGAIN in Harmony! It was always really sweet talking to Uxie about all sorts of stuff. Like hobbies and mutual love of being sleepy bois and shopping and how lame responsibility is and just random snazzy stuff. It's hard to pinpoint a precise moment that sums up why I think Uxie is lovely. He just is.
8-Cobalion This would be tied between Coba's big slap upside my head, and the aforementioned totally wild probing FTC questions. So Coba calling me out for being useless was a pretty pivotal point in my game from my perspective and something I've spoken a bit about. It seems I even undersold his advice, but this really forced me to take a hard look at myself and realise I was indeed not really approaching this game strategically at all. His FTC questions have also been extremely pointed and revealing, and he's been a pleasure to engage with here. Frightening, but a pleasure.
7-Meltan I loved his posting gimmick. The Meltan Thread in General Discussion was adorable. The fact I told him I loved his gimmick and he appeared in my inbox in Mystic2.0 to tell me Meltan loved me too. Just altogehter super super neat. From a favourite moment perspective, Meltan gave Regi and I an opportunity to overcome the majority against us in Mystic2.0 and that was pretty massive. A lot seems to have gone down in Mystic1.0, and there weren't a lot of firm bonds between Meltan Deo and Arti. But the opportunity to make it through a 5p tribe when you're in the minority is bloody hard to pass up. This is literally a major reason I'm here at all today.
6-Poipole My love... you were too beautiful for this world... Even though from a gameplay POV I kinda had you on the outer, I really enjoyed talking to you. It was fun chatting about travel and just passing time in our PM chain. I also loved the fact you had Uxie's back - Valor1.0 suffered quite a lot during the swapped tribes, and it was really cool to me that one of the players I really wanted to reconnect with had someone from Mystic1.0 who was looking out for him.
5-Hoopa This is a hard tie between the "I wonder what we'd look like without hair?" moment and briefly spamming songs at each other while trying to avoid songs that would be personally identifiable in any way. Hoopa was consistently a blast to hang out with and we had some real fun moments. Even though we were like foes in-game, I love her to bits.
Celebi So Celebi and I kicked off our PM thread by talking about the ramifications of time travel contractual law for like an entire page, and she tried to suck me into hiring her as a time travel entrepreneur at a very low rate which was exorbitantly increased by the fact I'd have to pay it for all of time. Celebi was consistently very very hilarious
