I've just realised...I'm the only non-jury original Valor who actually stuck around to watch the game The more qualifiers you add, the less impressive it sounds. But I treasure you regardless. <3

Sixth jury vote... Okay, so this is the hardest vote I've ever made. I worked you hard in my juror's thread because I have never felt so conflicted about a vote. You've got Tapu, the blossoming social threat who remind me of me, Deo, a strategically minded nearly gamebot who became my rock and closest friend, and Regi, who has all the right pieces (the social and strategic smarts) but not necessarily in the right order.
There's a world in which this goes to Regi. I'm not sure what we watched in FTC and I'm frustrated that you've walked away with the idea that the game demands a worldview that you can't honestly align yourself with. It looks like you gave up: you didn't need to.
I think the choice has been so hard because in all other ftcs, my vote has very much been a vote against the other player: someone has obviously deserved my vote where the other candidates have not. Right now, this decision is between two people who definitely HAVE earnt my vote and two people who, whatever I do tonight, have a win in their future. Run this game, this FTC 100 times and the margin is still tiny. Deo, you played a well rounded, recognisable game of Survivor: you did most of the right things at the right time, made connections and moves where it mattered and built a resume. Tapu, you embraced the social game, and although in some lights it can be argued you didn't 'do' much, in others it can be argued that you didn't have to.
I was thinking about Survivor earlier. In Kaoh Rong, when Aubrey lost to Michelle, I was devastated. Aubrey played -better-. She did things. It meant more to her. But after a while, Aubrey acknowledged that you can play the 'best game' in the world: if you can't connect with yourself and with everyone around you, then you haven't played the right game. This message was highlighted in closing speeches: Deo, you talked about challenge wins, but the jury hadn't found them important enough to discuss. Tapu, you thanked the jurors for pushing you, showing you understood them, and you. You've both been on a massive growth arc, but only one of you realises how important it is.
I vote for Tapu. You don't have to be perfect to do enough.

Seventh jury vote... I must say you all made this FTC quite the adventure. I went into this with an idea on who I was going to vote for, and expected that what FTC would present would only confirm that idea that I had. But I stand corrected. You all fought in all sorts of different ways to show that you should be standing here at the end of this game, and I thank you for your passion and dedication to this game. Regi: You played a masterful game filled with flips and moves that even us veterans could only dream of pulling off so well. Even if FTC didn't go the way you thought it might, I want you to know that you played a game you should be proud of and you have a great Survivor career ahead of you, I can tell. Lele: I think the type of game you've played is not usually the type we get to see here all the way at the end, while also being the kind that can actually backup the claims that are made about it. You didn't oversell what you did either. You may have called yourself a goat, but that is not the FTC performance that you brought here. You will do well in the future too. Deo: If no one else says this, I want you to know that I have always been very impressed with how you take critiques and criticisms and reflect on them and adjust your behavior accordingly. If you're told you need to be better, you put your everything into it in order to make corrections to be better. And I respect the hell out of it and I am sure you will only continue to become a better person and a better Survivor player in the process. You three have not made this decision easy, and I thank you for that. I do mean that I wanted the person who I vote for to be the kind of person I feel like embodies the best aspects of this game. I've also decided that I want to vote for the kind of player that I want to see more of here in these games and should be rewarded for their behavior and the type of vibe they brought to this game. So with that in mind, I cast my vote for: Tapu Lele! You have the kind of energy and personality that sticks out to me and should be something we all could learn from as players and people. The eighth vote is also for Tapu Lele! Congratulations to the winner of Survivor: Legendary!
