This is your confessional! Please post here within the first 24 hours of the game, otherwise we will replace you. The confessional is for you to vent your feelings and thoughts about the game, as well as the place you submit your votes and other actions. You might see the following people in your confessional
Mods: Myself, Cynthia and Steven. Ask us if you have any questions.
Spectators: These guys are supposed to be unbiased and ask you what is going on in the game. They have access to all the confessionals, and are probably getting up to cool stuff in their area.
Have a great game!
-Cynthia, Steven and I.

Hey y’all, welcome to my confesh. It’s been a while (well like a month or two) since the last survivor game so I’m hyped to be back in one, though it may be my last for a while. And uh...knowing that going in made me think a lot of what I want out of this game? So I’m probably going to talk about that. That’s what confessionals are for, right?
So like first off, I want to win. I want to win bad. Like I have come so so close to winning that it pains me to think that that may be as close as I will get. I’ve had basically every experience I could have in this game, well not every, but a good approximation of each, and the only thing left to do is to win. So like, I’m going to have to play pretty much perfect, because I’ve seen so much how a small mistake can lead to a huge loss and it’s frustrating. Though incredibly flawed games can win too, but uh...that’s not what I want to do, that’s boring.
Which brings me to the next thing I want to do, more than win. I want to leave a big mark on this game. Like, sure I’ll probably remember what I did this game and have fun no matter what, but..it’s kind of big to have everyone remember you. To me that’s how you know you did a good job, after all the main objective is to have fun, but that isn’t just for the players, it goes for the specs and mods as well (though I’m certain that after a while my questions that are probably answered in the rules of the challenge will slowly drain the life from the mods), and I kind of feel that in the past my confessional has been, subpar. Well not super bad but...not as good as it could be, so I’m going to try and do a lot these deep dives into my thought process (and in text so people can just Control + F their names instead of having to rewind and fast forward stuff).
Anyway, as always, to accomplish those, I have a plan...granted it will almost definitely change, but here are the main ideas and guidelines (to myself):
1. Send a lot of press at every phase. Messaging is a lot of effort (and I get socially drained pretty fast) but if you are going to survive, you need to be well liked. You need to have allies, just avoid being soooo amazing that everyone loves you (and becoming the huge social threat) and you’ll be good (don't worry you probably don't have that in ya anyway). I want to be the dude that everyone just sort of gets along with. Also, If you aren’t talking to people, they won’t think you are doing much, that’s kind of bad if you want to win a jury vote.
2.FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON’T BE THE ONE TO START AN ALLIANCE. Like I get why I do this a lot, it feels nice to be in an alliance but guess what, other people do too. But every single time you do this...people start saying that you are a threat. How about you do the smart thing, you don’t start the alliance you just find someone who wants to be very proactive and get them to start it.
3.Find the people who are good at challenges, KILL THEM. Look, maybe keep one around as a shield, but dude, you are good at most challenges and need a little push for the rest. You can pull off the immunity run that can let you make the BIG MOVES you oh so desire, furthermore it makes you more essential to a tribe in challenges. This seems dangerous and counterintuitive (after all if you advocate killing challenge threats...and are one, you are kind of arguing for people to kill you) but probably necessary last term because the last thing you want is a string of like 4 second place immunity finishes.
4. No roleplaying this time. Turns out that’s more hit or miss if you don’t commit to it and well….you can’t commit to it. Instead be genuine, this will get you stronger in game connections and probably a lot of fun out of game interactions. Just like be passionate and try and get into longer discussions that are analytical in nature, those are engaging, those make people not want to vote you out and feel guilty when you do.
5. Do still be quirky and fun, your photoshops are hilarious (to you) and the more people laugh the better the tribe morale is. Fortunately I have at least one quirk that should also be a small misdirect. For the purposes of this game, I am going to be OBSESSED with Jim Henson’s masterpiece, The Dark Crystal. It will seep into conversations, I will reference it in challenges, the characters, the lore, everything. To be honest the last time I saw it...it was...kind of creepy, but on rewatch I think I can appreciate it more.
6. Don’t underestimate the “fans” tribe. Inexperience can easily be overcome, especially if you’ve already played. Like, Awoo and Kitty both had great first time appearances, and some of the strongest challenge competitors are people who haven’t even touched the survivor scene. With coaching to show them how to play and tweak their game, they’ll be more than formidable. Furthermore they may bond over the idea of having one of the “fans” win a game. That’s just a better narrative overall so be careful of that.
7.Try to work with the “fans” to eliminate the other favorites. Be wary of them, but you can only teach so much. A lot of the time, the only way to truly “get” a concept is to experience its impacts directly. As such the “favorites” are still your default biggest threats since they’ve had time to practice their strengths, but working with the fans should allow you to overcome that. Also the “fans” are likely a bit more malleable with less of a set strategy they go for and likely to look up to someone who analyzes the game deeply instead of thinking “well this needs to die” right away, and so long as that instinct is there, in roads will be easier to find there than someone who’s been to a lot of rodeos. Still, ya gotta play the people, so this may get thrown out completely depending on the personalities on each tribe.
8.Remember, the parts of the game that matter most to jurors, are the parts they were there for. This is why personal relationships can pay off so well, and it’s also why the Merge is one of the most influential things over jury votes, it’s the only time when they have a direct comparison between everyone, and it’s also the most recent memory. Early mergers might be able to be won over with premerge moves and talking about that, but beyond that, the merge matters the most, so make a big splash early, dip a bit in the middle, and rule over the end.
9. Don’t get cocky. If you ever get cocky you will make a mistake and that usually is followed up by being voted out, being nervous sucks, but it also keeps you in check, and it grounds the game. There are people who are better at you at survivor and they’re probably playing this game, so don’t you forget that.
10. Don’t give up. Never ever give up, sometimes going out there on a limb in a desperate time turns a dark moment into a bright one, and it’s quite common for people to be targeted super hard one round, only for the wagon to disappear in the next round after it fails. So like, go hard.
Don’t you just love word salad guys? It’s my favorite kind of salad personally. None of these are particularly visionary or even..elegantly worded, but I figure it’s best to give you context for my game and plan at the start (even if rudimentary). After all I want people to remember not just the what I did, but the why. Hopefully you can look forward to a lot more posts like this and a lot of good/bad jokes and ideas. Hopefully I can avoid getting voted and I’ll finally be able to truly become...legendary.
