Hey specs, mods and fallen legendary players! One of my favorite things to do when watching these fun games is to create an edgic for the players to look back on and enjoy once the game is over. It's also a really fun kinda way for us to critique the players on how they performed each round, and also try and select a winner.
If you're not sure what an edgic is, in its briefest of terms its an impromptu word combining editing and logic. During aired seasons of Survivor, various fan communities try and judge players in the game based on the amount of screen time, depth of character and the overall narrative that Survivor is attempting to portray. Using this system, fans try and find which characters are being edited by the producers into various roles, such as the hero, the villain, the Strategic player, the lazy player, ect. By determining how they are edited, the communities can try and predict who will win the game, because obviously CBS usually wants the winner to have a coherent winners story.
In online games, since we are kinda the producers in the sense that we see pretty everything, its not really serving the same role. Rather I use it as a sort of way of grading the players per round on the narrative that each episode seems to be focusing on. I think most player enjoy when an edgic is done, its always a fun thing to look back. And I'm doing one for this game! So yay!
I've already completed rounds 1 and 2. I'll be posting my summary of them here. If you want to particpate in the edgic, please add your opinions. Edgics are the best when the entire community adds their input. Also, if you aren't aware of anything edgic related, click here to learn a bit more about the ratings!
Without further ado, I present to you my edgics for Round 1 and Round 2 of this game.
Round 1 Summary (Valor):
Round 1 Summary (Mystic):
Round 1 Contenders:
So going into the first round I have Volcanion, Cobalion, Uxie and Regigigas.
For Volcanion, I think its obvious he has a great head on his shoulders. He's postioning himself in to becoming the swing vote on his tribe and it seems that people don't really have it out for him. He has been mentioned as being a little difficult to chat with, but I think if he can wade that river, Volcanion could be the type of player to steer his alliances in the direction he wants, while avoiding the target time and again. Of course, its early, this could change but thats my gut read on him right now.
Cobalion is probably the strongest member on the Mystic tribe. While he originally came off abrasive, its clear he has a grasp on his place in this game. It seemed that there are already large figures shaping up to be battling on Mystic, like Meltan and Solgaelo, while Cobalion can low key direct the game in the way he wants it to. He's off to a great start. Watch this space!
Uxie is one of my favorite newcomers! He seems pretty well off, being on just about everyones good side. Unlike Tapu Lele who isn't giving us much depth and Mesprit who I think will overplay his hand, Uxie comes off as adaptable and intelligent. He's also reaching out to lower tier members on the tribe to work with in Mewtwo, so that could really be a benefit if their tribe can keep up a winning streak.
Finally, Regigigas fills out the list. It looks like Regi is kinda being left out in terms of the alliances? He has Lugia but it seems other factors on the tribe are already gunning for him. That said, I think his charisma and charm, should he escape Valor, will serve him greatly in the later game and I could see him surviving Valor no problem baring a surprise assault from Mesprit.
Round 2 Summary (Valor):
Team Valor had a fairly boring episode. Nothing or real substance happened, as it the curse of winning back to back immunities. I think the major theme of their episode was, as Regi might have put, a sorta Mewtwo redemption arc? It seems he is slowly getting into the good graces of the other players! Also Lemon Pancakes was a fairly lovely interaction with the genetic pokemon.
MOR:
For MORs this round I have just Tapu Lele. This is mostly coming from second person visibility since she isn’t posting much. Seems to be an incredibly central figure in the tribe, but is not letting on what the game play she wants to follow is. Everyone ranks her high in the tribe, although not everyone likes her. Mesprit gets a MOR edit. He seems fairly important to the power dynamic right now, but like, it still seems to be that everyone is focused on more Lele??? I really want to give him a better edit but I just… don’t know I feel like I can’t? Volcanion also gets a MOR edit since he really had nothing to do this round other than continue his weird gay role play story thing.
CP:
Only Regigigas gets a CP edit, actually going into details about how he feels the tribe is broken down. He has allies who seem to want to work with him, but he knows are expendable (Lugia) and also trying to wrangle Vinciti into an alliance. I think he has the most protentional on the tribe, but I have a sinking feeling being on the outs of the Uxie/Mes/Lele/Vol alliance is gonna fuck him over in the end. He needs Luiga to work with him, but he doesn’t seem to want to.
UTR:
Buzzwole gets an UTR for pretty much doing nothing other than the challenge. I feel people have even stopped talking about him as a boot it seems people are more focused on Luiga, who I also gave an UTR edit too. They are the long hangers and don’t seem to be in any rush to shake things up. Vicitini gets another UTRP edit. Again, shes on no ones radar and everyone loves her, so lets hope she can keep this up. Mewtwo also gets an positive UTR edit due to his cute interactions this round and the general feeling of him winning back his place in this game.
INV:
Oh wow this is a first for a while, Uxie gets an INV edit. I know he went away for the round, and that’s perfectly fine since they didn’t need him, but still missing a round is never a good thing. It’s already showing that he may now be bumped to the bottom of his foursome group.
Round 2 Summary (Mystic):
Round 2 Contenders:

Without further ado, I present to you my edgics for Round 1 and Round 2 of this game.
Round 1 Summary (Valor):
For round one in Valor, I’d say the narrative of this episode focused on two larger players kinda being hyped up. I think Regi and Mesprit got a lot of attention from other players and, in my opinion, emerged as the two central figures of the tribe. Mes seems to be a leading figure in a lot of the discussions about alliances, finding his way into talks with Tapu Lele, Uxie and Volcanion.
OTT:
I’m giving Mesprit OTT for this round because it seems everyone is talking about him, hes in everyones game but he himself hasn’t really given much substance behind this thoughts. Furthermore, as Cynthia mentioned, his snark in the challenge was pretty funny and just made me think a bit over the top. He did take charge and, honestly if I had too, I would probably say he is like the tribe leader. All qualities of a good OTT!
CP:
Regigigas on the other hand came across more complex, trying to figure out where his relationships fall with Vici and Lugia. Another surprisingly interesting player is Volcanion who seems to be well aware of his placement in the game as one of the deciding players on Team Valor and went out of his way to try and secure himself and Lele as two members who are in the middle. Uxie offers some really good insight into where he is in the game and his plans and is in a relatively good position. I could see Uxie being a serious end game contender if he doesn’t get screwed over by the Tapu/Vol block. He needs to not put his eggs all in the Mesprit basket then he’d be golden. His choice in working with Mewtwo is also interesting to me!
MOR:
Tapu Lele is overwhelmingly liked and also mentioned in a few peoples plans, so I gave Lele a positive MOR edit for this round. Buzzwole gets a straight MOR edit. While some were mention he was difficult to chat with, his pulling through on the challenge has also earned him some praise so I think toneless MOR is fine. Mewtwo gets a negative MOR edit. His ally proposal to Vol and Uxie was received awkwardly and he wasn’t too helpful on the challenge, not to mention he has been mentioned a few times as a first boot and difficult to deal with. He didn’t participate much, but his edit comes from a lot of SPV.
UTR:
Lugia is likely under the radar, most people haven’t paid him much mind this round. Vicitini also gets an UTR edit but positive because nearly everyone has mentioned how much they love him. Plus, I mean, V for Victory ya? <3

Round 1 Summary (Mystic):
For Mystic in round one, it seemed the narrative of the episode was very much focused on Meltan and the sorta spiral out of control that came the vote. It should have been an easy Deo or Art vote, but Deoxys being stand up and straight with everyone quickly swung their opinions over to the rhyming Jirachi. Meltan is set up by being one of the larger names on the tribes, but we’ll see how long he manages to stay around. His rivalry with Solageo will likely come to a head soon as well.
OTT:
Two OTTS on Mystic in Meltan and Solgaelo. Had Meltan not gone out of his way to really throw the vote into wack he probably would have gotten OTTP with everyone loving him. He is still a fairly strong player in the game, but his choice to fight for Jirachi simply because he enjoyed his company instead of going with the flow of the tribe made him a bit one dimensional. Solgaleo became a huge figure on the tribe and did have some really great posts, but his strategy lacked substance and I think given the circumstances he fell more into an OTT role this episode.
CP:
Cobalion gets a CP. He came in with his Roleplaying like a king but quickly established himself as the lynchpin in the tribe. I really felt it was because of him that Deoxys wasn’t the first boot, or at least somewhat so. He is arguably I think the most cunning player on his tribe right now.
MOR:
Articuno gets a solid MOR rating. I think he has the potential to break out and be an interesting figure down the line, but for right now I see him very much falling in line with what the larger players want as opposed to giving his own opinions. Deoxys gets a MORN edit. He started out weak, but slowly grew to be a more interesting figure in the tribe. The negative edit comes from the earlier representation of him, but I don’t see that sticking around. Hoopa gets a MORP edit. Similar to Articuno, has a lot of interesting thoughts but right now seems content with letting other players kinda drive things home. Perhaps doing more behind the scenes, but I don’t see it. P edit because it seems a great deal of players like him, even Meltan’s original vote was just because Hoopa was a threat. Jirachi also gets a MOR edit. Jirachi had some great moments at the start of the episode but fizzled out towards the end. I thought about UTR but I think his poems left a much larger impression the cast to justify him going out with an UTR edit. I thought about Positive edit at first but the poems seemed to get on the nerves of folks in the end, but were a bit slow to annoy, so a negative didn’t fit much either.
UTR:
Celebi gets an UTR edit. Crusing along, not really sticking their neck out but mostly because he doesn’t have too. Poipole also gets an UTR edit. Really nothing going on with him other than his closeness with Meltan, although it wasn’t enough to get him on Metlan’s side for the Hoopa or Sol boot.

Round 2 Summary (Mystic):
Mystic almost had a boring round until apparently the 11th hour when Solgaelo, in a moment of kindess I guess chose to give Meltan a fighting chance… which of course lead to his own boot from the game. I’m kinda bummed, I feel Solgaelo could have been such a character down the line and this is truly a loss for the game if you ask me. But as they say, the brighter the star, the quicker it burns out and collapses into a black hole, right? While I certainly think Colbalion had a large role in this boot, I think the main narrative of this round was the forming of a bond between Meltan and Articuno to effectively push back against the idea that it was the two of them on the block, flipping the game on its head.
OTT:
Colbalion gets an OTT edit this round. I think he had a lot to do with the boot, but he never really discussed it. Instead I feel his growth this episode focused on the idol and his whole play with Deoxy and the wishing thread. He is also giving off good arrogance vibes. Still my favorite to win on the Mystic tribe, he literally has allies throwing themselves at him.
MOR:
Hoopa… I mean, I feel like… Hoopa def tried to keep Solgaleo but I still don’t really know where Hoopa’s game is going. Now that Solgaleo is gone, lets watch this space I think these next few rounds are do or die for Hoopa. Hoopa does get a positive edit though because of the sympatric factor of losing their #1 ally in such a bizaare way.
CP:
Deoxys gets a CP edit. He gave some interesting insight into his current position in the tribe, it seems he’s worming his way into the tribe hierarchy and I think his thread post for Colablion was a very interesting way to play the knowledge of the idol. I’m not sure if it was the smartest thing for him to do, but I will give credit where its due, Deoxys had an interesting round to be sure. Aritcuno gets a CP this round, which I struggled with giving. He didn’t really post much other than his responses to the events going on rather than in how he plans on shaping it. But this round showed an interesting dynamic of having the two boots options come together and agree to work together, which is something I always feels rewarding of a CP. Meltan also gets a CPP, due to the nature of the already likeable character kinda fighting down a majority that he set up on himself. Solgaelo goes out with a CPN. I think Solgaelo was always a super interesting character and had a lot of depth to his game. Unfortunately, true or not, it seems the majority of the tribe found his attempting to pit Art and Meltan against each other as scummy, leading to him leaving the game with a negative tone, ending with an overall CPN edit.
UTR:
Celebi is apparently important to a lot of peoples games? I need to figure out where these folks stand, what the real alliances cause right now the only ones I see are the ones surrounding Colbalion. As for Poipole, I honestly forget this person is even playing so yeah, if that’s not UTR I don’t know what is.

Round 2 Contenders:
Not much changed.
Volcanion is still my top contender to win, although I think this will likely change once they finally hit tribe.
Colbalion is still the best chance of a Mystic taking the crown right now, and with the idol in his pocket I see no reason to change his place. He’d be top contender if Mystic could just win!
I tossed Vicitini on the contenders because, I mean… I have this gut feeling deep down that Vicitni is not someone we should be sleeping on. Super likeable, great head on their shoulders… I dunno man, V for Victory.
Regigigias fills out the bottom of the contenders because I feel, if he can make it to a swap, he has a fairly good chance of being able to work his current connections without being seem as a major threat from a large alliance.
Uxie falls from the contenders for being absent one round, plus seemingly being the lowest on the totem pole of the alliance hes in. Could easily return though. I find it a bit funny that despite there being a foursome on Valor, two of my three contenders aren’t core members of the foursome and the one who is left is more in the middle. Ehehe. Until Valor heads to TC, its hard to judge where the group truly lies, I think its possible that we may see Mesprit or Tapu Lele up here soon.. but I dunno, just their personalities don't really scream end game material to me yet.
