You have been assigned an experienced player, Jasmine (Cephrir), to answer your questions and put you on the right track in this game. As a reminder of the rules, you don't have to maintain anonymity with each other, but you can't reveal your trainer's ID to any other player in the game (or anyone bar the mods outside of it).
Your trainer doesn't have to confine his/her posting to this thread but this thread may be convenient.

Hello, Uxie! I'm excited to be helping you out!
I will be quite active, and really want to help you succeed, so please don't hesitate to talk to me. I'm a little curious how familiar you are with this whole scene since that will help me figure out how much I need to tell you.
If you've never done this before (or maybe even if you have), the first thing you need to know is that talking to your teammates via PM is very very very important, so I'd strongly recommend doing as much of that as you can. That's the meat of this game, yo.
Anyway, I'll keep checking in on you frequently. I've been around this block a few times and I like to think I'm pretty good, so I could probably help you with all kinds of stuff.
Wow, I'm really overeager! I hope you check in soon :}

For what it's worth, everyone might talk a big talk about the other team being the enemy now, but they likely won't stick to it. It's best to smile and nod and pretend not to like them for now. (I'm just assuming you're totally new for now since I sort of requested that). But when you meet them, it's time to put a smile on, pretend they're your new best friends and give them a chance at your trust! C: Also, the fact that the tribes are Valor and Mystic heavily suggests to me that at some point there will be a tribe swap into 3 tribes, since there is also Team Instinct and it'd be weird if it weren't used. Sorry if any of that made no sense. Maybe I'll just use this as my own confessional until you arrive!

Mewtwo strikes me as being on the less socially aware side. Tapu Lele seems like the expected bubbly person who will probably be around a long time.
Lugia is probably the person I would like the most, which I'm not saying for any reason other than I feel like it.

Hey Jasmine I am sorry that I haven't written anything here, but I will get to it on my lunch break or something. You said a lot of words and I would like to actually read and respond to them without being in a rush.

(Also, if you have limited time right now, I'd probably encourage you to use it on your tribe mates for now and not me! I can wait, they're the ones with the power to vote you off if they get tired of waiting)

Yeah I've been making sure that I am on top of all of my PMs from my tribe mates. Like, it sucks that I had real life stuff yesterday and had to come in late, but I think I am making a reasonable recovery?

I hope so! It depends on the game how important the first night is. I've seen games where the tribe hierarchy was practically set by then. But given the lack of veterans on this tribe, that seems unlikely to me. Just get them talking as much as you can and surviving the first few rounds should be a breeze ^^

Whenever you do have time, I'm sure both the spectators and I would love a summary of how things are going so far!

Hi I'm finally here and not at work. I was a terrible employee today and spent a lot of time PMing players, but I'm hoping that it pays off. In order of the questions that you presented: My familiarity with Survivor really is more based on my familiarity with the superior show big brother. The main difference I think is the dynamic between everyone knowing each other from the get go, and being split in two like this from the start. Obviously we are going to pretend that our team is superior to the blue team, but I don't think that's necessarily the most productive. If I make it to merge, I'll definitely be looking to make friends where I can. I've definitely been taking the PMing game to heart, though this early on it's really hard to find things to talk about. I find myself stonewalled at times by a one line response that doesn't give me a ton of meat to work with. I'm working through that now, though, and I'm hoping this challenge gives us more to talk about. Regarding my team mates, everyone is obviously my new best friend I'm really trying to feel out who is actually looking for something deeper than niceties, but I don't think you can really talk about that without looking incredibly desperate. You're also probably correct on the Team Instinct angle. Frankly I am INSULTED that we didn't get placed on the superior yellow team. I will touch on my impressions on people in my first confessional, but I'm in agreement for the most part.

I guess I shouldn't encourage you to slack off, but... eh, good job If you figured out that one line responses are bad already, then we're leagues ahead of where we could be! All you can do when someone doesn't give you a hook is keep trying or start a new topic. Probably doesn't bode well for the social prowess of said one line writers, but you never know. Yah, some folks may want to talk more about the game and some may feel like talking about their pet chihuahuas. You can try to meet them on whatever their turf is depending on your comfort level (or, ifyou're like me, force them to shoot the shit whether they like it or not...) TBH you could probably get through the first phase without ever talking about game at all, but... it's not recommended, the word alliance means a lot to some folks and some can be stubborn about sticking to their first friends. Anyway, it sounds like you may have a good handle on things so far, which is great!
